Through the Snow City Arts Foundation, a local non-profit foundation that places artists into three major Chicago Hospitals to teach art, Elshtain has been a poet-in-residence at Children's Memorial Hospital. Over the last couple of years, he has amassed an amazing collection of poems that deserve to reach an audience outside of the hospital, and to be presented as poems by poets, not poor little sick children.  Also, not every poem is about being sick and hopeful; many of the poems have nothing to do with being ill, but have everything to do with making language sing. Local poets will present/read/perform the works of these younger authors.
